  I've had some interviews for charity organizations, and in the process i've realised that i'm really interested in social work. Can you give advice on courses?

    Social work is a very interesting field,it is very fulfilling especially to those who want to help people,its a helping profession.You can enrol for a bachelors in Social work or start with a diploma.Other programs that are closer to Social work are Bsc in Community Development,Bsc in Development studies,just to name a few. Look for universities that offer Social work if you really feel you are the helping type.You wont regret it.Good luck!

      Many thanks Priscilla for your insight. I'll definitely investigate the different options you mention. Hopefully i'll get there! What's for sure is that i see clearly that social work is my thing, the satisfaction of knowing that i've been able to help a fellow human being doesn't compare to anything else i've ever tried.     To get an entry level position on most cases you need a bachelor’s degree on Social Work or related degrees. You can in addition pursue a majors in psychology or sociology among others, which will give you a head start. If you’re looking to get a position in the area of health or mental health you’ll probably need to further your studies at postgraduate level (for example, a master’s degree specialising in psychology or the likes). To practise you must register with the ZA interim council for social work. Your bth degree is probably a great complement, but I doubt it if it will be enough.
