  • mining Hi guys, as almost everyone knows economic activity in modern-day South Africa has been centred on mining activities, their ancillary services and supplies. So, many of us want to use this condition to find a job in that sector. I was searching information about the issue and I found an interesting webpage that I want to share with you here:

    It talks about that fact but it doesn't solve my doubts about in what are the best or the more famous mining companies that I have to apply in order to find a job in that sector at South Africa. I'm now living in Pretoria but I'm available to move around the country no matter where.

  • The average salary for a Bank Teller per year in South Africa Hito everyone, I've been working as a Bank Teller in Johannesburg for 10 years and now that I've just changed my job to being a lawyer I was wondering if my previous salary fitted the current average salary for this type of work. I found in the next webside that the average is about R94,757 per year:

  • What's the average salary for a receptionist per year? Hi guys, I've been a receptionist for 5 years and I was wondering if my salary fits with the current averagre salary per year in our country for my job. So I've decided to look up on Google and this page appeared to me: http://www.payscale.com/research/ZA/Job=Receptionist/Salary

    It says that the average salary for a Receptionist is R72,513 per year but I earn a little less than that. What do you think guys? Could someone agree with this average?

      I firmly believe that at age 55, which by the way I am too, we have gone through all of the issues one had when younger. Children are adults, we have amassed years of people experience, and maturity! Nothing should hold one back from being of service to any practice or company! Good luck to all...Jenni

      Totally so. I'm with Jenni. At this age you've gone through a lot and gathered a lot of experience and wisdom. I think that most times you're more able for the task than the general believe gives you credit for.

        Hi Amber,one thing that I've also learnt being older, is that I am not afraid to ask questions, or take on new challenges! My motto is..'measure twice, and cut once'. There's one country that I have the utmost respect for is Australia/New Zealand..why? Take note of how many mature (older) people work for Border Security! Why? Because there is value, and years of experience, with more mature people! If one is in good health, why not use those people to enrich businesses?

          Yes, with experience and age also your corners have been chipped off and you've learned to play the balance between the radical (in the good sense) approach of youth and the political correctness (sometimes too marked) that age teaches you to smooth off. Yes we can work, and very well, after 50!

It all depends on the person, because lets be realistic, there are many dedicated, hard working younger people, and so also not so dedicated maturer people! It's all got to do with attitude, and a willingness to enhance one's work place, and engage with other people! An 'attitude of gratitude' & Service Excellence!
